Kitchen for a Friend is a remodeling project of a 15m² space designed for my best friend, who was moving into a new home and needed a kitchen adapted to her lifestyle and specific needs. This project represented not just a functional transformation but also a deeply personal endeavor to create a space that felt uniquely hers.
Faced with spatial constraints, the design process centered around reorganizing the layout to improve functionality and maximize the efficient use of space. Key elements included optimizing the placement of appliances and storage solutions, ensuring ease of access while maintaining a sense of openness. Particular care was taken to make the most of natural light, integrating it seamlessly into the design to enhance the ambiance of the space. The existing infrastructure, such as plumbing and electrical installations, was thoughtfully incorporated to minimize disruptions and maximize practicality.
Beyond functionality, this project aimed to balance form and aesthetic appeal, creating a welcoming and inspiring environment. Materials, finishes, and colors were chosen to align with her personal style, bringing warmth and character to the space. The resulting design reflects a harmonious blend of creativity, practicality, and attention to detail, proving how even a compact kitchen can become the heart of a home.
